A cropped section of the original oil painting, inspired by a visit to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. There the towering kelp forest rises to 28 feet, one of the tallest aquarium exhibits in the world and only a fraction of the height giant kelp can reach in the wild. In ideal conditions, macrocystis pyrifera may grow as tall as 150 feet. The purchase of this print helps to restore kelp forests with SeaTrees! Learn more at mariemckenzie.com/kelpworks.
