About
This miniature oil painting came through my imagination, born from reflecting on the Garibaldi fish, neon and glowing bright in the ocean, California's state fish. The painting moved through my subconscious, brushstrokes without a plan, only sentiments felt.
The edges were gilded with copper-colored metal leaf. As the small leaflets were being pressed, some of the bits became airborne and landed on the front of the painting, adhering themselves there, not part of my intention, but adding more sparkle to the surface, like little particulates lit up by the sun underwater.
