After winding through the narrow streets tucked between tall buildings, I stumbled upon the sweetest little square, with a fountain at its heart. I opened my watercolors at a café, looking up past the umbrellas to the homes above—pastel shutters opening onto balconies draped with colorful laundry. The scene was alive with the cheerful palette of Nice’s architecture, a warm summer evening soaking up the harmony of bright, sunlit hues.
